Campaign Manager Friends of Emily Myers
Emily Myers is a candidate for Seattle City Council District 4. She is a scientist & labor organizer running to bring evidence-based policy that centers human rights to city hall. From committing to equitable rezoning in our neighborhoods to funding investment in permanent supportive housing for people experiencing chronic homelessness, Emily will bring a scientist’s eye for data-driven solutions to our city. She’s the only candidate running on a platform focused on closing the gender pay gap with proven strategies: more access to childcare and more union jobs. We’re looking for an energetic leader ready to be organized and comfortable with learning on the fly.
Qualifications
Experience volunteering for previous campaigns
Exemplary organizational skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
An interest in local politics and willingness to learn quickly
Familiarity with social media platforms
Leadership or management experience (student-run organizations okay)
Note: Graduating seniors will be considered if able to commit some time to work hourly prior to graduation. We’d prefer to hire someone who can stay through November.

Job Description (all percentages are estimates and will vary across campaign)
Project Management/Coordination (20%)
Manage and coordinate candidate’s schedule
Manage campaign communications with stakeholders and constituents (mostly email inbox management, filtering, etc)
Candidate prep/staffing (20%)
Staff the candidate at events
Manage questionnaire and interview process for candidate endorsements.
Field (60%)
Recruit and manage a core volunteer team
Work with the field director to plan multiple weekly canvasses and phone banks
Knock doors for and with candidate
Full-time, Salary range $2800-3200, commensurate with experience.
This position is a full-time position requiring canvassing on weekends and weeknight evenings. This requires access to a computer and at least occasional access to a vehicle.
Duration: May through August, continuing through November if candidate advances to General Election.
