Title:  Digital Fellow

 

Status: Non Exempt        

                                                                                                                                    

Reports to: Director of Digital Engagement

 

Positions reporting to this position: N/A

 

The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters (New Jersey LCV) and Conservation Voters of Pennsylvania (CVPA) serve as the leading political voices for the environment in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, respectively. They are both non-partisan, statewide organizations dedicated to holding elected officials accountable for all their actions that impact our precious natural resources. 

 

Description:

New Jersey LCV and CVPA seek a Digital Fellow would be primarily responsible for managing social media outreach for both organizations. The Digital Fellow would also assist the Director of Digital Engagement with activities to build and engage a large email list to promote environmental protection and support partner organizations in the Delaware Watershed.

 

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of New Jersey LCV and CVPA’s social media pages, including but not limited to monitoring the news and allies for potential updates to share, drafting posts, engaging with followers, growing the lists, and reporting on results.

·         -  Set up email message blasts and action pages in New Jersey LCV and CVPA’s shared software program and write email copy as time allows.

·        -   Communicate with allies about how we can support their activities.

·       -    Maintain email activist data, including but not limited to importing new lists, recording email message statistics, tracking list growth, responding to list members’ questions and data updates, and managing internal communications lists.

·        -   Perform website updates.  

·        -   Assist with communications, including but not limited to drafting press releases and letters to the editor.

 

Qualifications:

  • Recent college graduates or graduate school students are preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with good organizational skills and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Works well under pressure, can meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Experience using social media for advocacy purposes.
  • Experience with graphics creation and editing preferred.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and database programs. Experience using Luminate Online preferred but not required.
  • Commitment to environmental protection.

 

Compensation: Compensation is $15.00 per hour.

 

Position Requirements: The is part-time, short-term position. The Digital Fellowship will last an estimated nine months, must be available to work 25-28 hours per week, and is based in Philadelphia, PA; Trenton, NJ; or Somerset, NJ.
