SNV Community Organizer - Battle Born Progress & Institute for a Progressive Nevada

Battle Born Progress and the Institute for a Progressive Nevada is seeking a community organizer for their Southern Nevada office. We're looking for creative and hardworking candidates with a background in communications that can work remotely in coordination with senior staff.

Duties include:

• Assist with accomplishing grant deliverables on the various issues BBP/IPN are tasked with
• Lead and manage the annual Progressive Summit and other community events
• Community organizing and tabling for list-building opportunities
• Manage grassroots organizing during the election season, legislature, and beyond
  
• Provide message trainings in both Spanish and English when needed
• Engage the media when needed
• Recruit, manage, and engage new volunteers and interns

Qualifications:

• Proven working experience in communications and politics
• Passion for promoting positive social change
• Ability to set and achieve goals independently and as a team
• Ability to motivate and manage a group of passionate staff members, activists, and volunteers
• Experience in working with Nevada media outlets preferred
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint
• Knowledge of social media platforms and the Voter Activation Network (VAN) is a plus

Salary & Benefits:

• Position starts at $40,000 a year, salaried full-time position with benefits.
