Senior Public Opinion Researcher

 

A leading progressive public opinion research firm located in Washington, D.C. seeks a qualified and experienced candidate to be a full time Senior Public Opinion Researcher. The ideal candidate will have significant political experience, a background in opinion research, and be highly detail-oriented with the proven ability to follow through on assignments.

 

The selected researcher will have a leading role on the polling team of a Democratic presidential candidate. In addition, the work portfolio will include research for other political races, elected officials, and a wide range of progressive issue clients (advocacy groups, labor unions, and non-profits).

 

·       Duties include but are not limited to:

o   Leading a team in designing and executing new projects

o   Creating questionnaires, reports, proposals and memos for clients

o   Representing the firm to clients, delivering presentations and managing client relationships

o   Designing survey and focus group materials

o   Training and overseeing junior and associate analysts while reviewing their work

o   Providing support for marketing needs as directed

o   Attending external events of interest to the team and firm

 

·       Applicants Must:

o   Be organized, diligent and responsible and able juggle a range of different tasks simultaneously

o   Exhibit a high level of attention to detail

o   Display excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work well under tight deadlines 

o   Be able to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction on given assignments 

o   Be able to effectively operate with minimal oversight, manage a team and delegate tasks

o   Show sound judgment and discretion

o   Show good customer relationship and follow-up skills

 

·       Preferred Skills:

o   A high level of political acumen

o   A background in or understanding of data analysis

o   5-7 years of experience in an office setting

o   Experience designing, conducting and analyzing opinion research

o   Experience in leadership, management, and oversight

o   Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

o   A commitment to the progressive movement and to social, economic and racial justice
