Our Organization
The Working Families Party is a progressive grassroots political party. We are building a multiracial movement of working people to transform America into a country that works for the many, not just the wealthy few. We recruit, train, and support transformational candidates up and down the ballot — and run them to win.
The WFP is made up of our individual members across the country, along with our partners in unions, community organizations and social movements.
Position Description
WFP is building a national party of the left. We’re investing in building the base our country needs. WFP Organizers are part of a cadre of skilled organizers that help us build membership and elect transformative leaders to office.
In 2016 Trump won WI by getting just under 23,000 more votes than Clinton. Our goal in Wisconsin is to ensure Trump’s defeat, the flip state legislative chambers, and elect strong progressive to local office by organizing hundreds of activists to turnout over 50,000 progressive voters. Wisconsin may be the most critical Presidential tipping point state in the nation in the presidential race. Our approach will be to 1) increase turnout of progressive voters in urban communities and communities of color, 2) identify organizing committees of activists in rural counties and train them with race-class narratives that have successfully combated right wing ideology, and 3) and support progressives in down ballot races that have energized progressive voters in purple suburban districts and successfully flipped them.
