The Oklahoma Democratic Party (ODP) is seeking full-time Political Director for the 2016 cycle.

 

Start Date: May, 2016      

                                           

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

 

Job Summary:

The Political Director will play a key role in working with campaigns, legislative caucuses, party activists, and allied stakeholders to put in place a strategic plan for the 2016 cycle.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

·         Assist in the drafting and political implementation of a strategic 2016 Coordinated Campaign Plan for the ODP

·         Help engage local, state, and national stakeholders, elected officials and opinion-makers on behalf of ODP’s political efforts

·         Play an active role in fundraising -- attending events, helping with call time and donor outreach, etc.

·         Direct and manage outreach/partnering efforts for the Party, in conjunction with the field, data, outreach, and communications teams – including state and local candidates, and allied organizations;    

·         Assist Outreach Director with voter-contact programs, including but not limited to voter-identification, registration and GOTV efforts

·         Work with the Director of Operations to create, update, and maintain systems to help allow the ODP to run effectively and efficiently

·         Communicate quantitative and qualitative outcomes of the program to partners and prospectus stakeholders alike

 

Qualifications:

 

·         At least 3-5 years of experience on political and/or advocacy campaigns or organizations, serving in a senior or management-level leadership role

·         Experience working with national, state, and local political players engaged in electoral strategies and programs

·         Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with diverse group of stakeholders

·         Political, Finance, and Field experience a must

·         Working knowledge of the VAN required

·         Understanding of mail, phone, and online strategies preferred

·         Working knowledge of state and federal campaign finance law preferred

·         Must have strong written and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent attention to detail and highly organized

·         Time management skills are a must

·         Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

·         Oklahoma ties a plus

 

Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Benefits are included.
