Grassroots Campaigns is looking for a highly ambitious candidate for our Regional Field Director position. With the threat of a White House and Congress controlled by the far right, in addition to attacks on our most basic rights, Grassroots Campaigns is working with our partner groups to fight back and push the progressive movement forward. Our Regional Field Directors implement large field programs across multiple offices, manage the team to make sure we win in November, and continue to build successful progressive campaigns beyond Election Day.
Structure: Each “region” consists of 6-7 field offices. Each office is run independently by a Canvass Director, who will have bottom-line responsibility for setting up and maintaining the office, personnel, and performing the work for the client. A typical office will employ, on average, between 15 and 50 canvassers over the course of a year, and will have annual goals for conversations with citizens, signatures gathered, voters registered, coalition size, and / or money raised, depending on the nature of the campaign.
Position Summary: The Regional Field Director will oversee the operation on the ground to implement the campaign plan from start to finish. Projects may include voter contact for the 2016 general elections, membership drives for the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, DNC or Southern Poverty Law Center, or coalition building for a critical issue or campaign.
Qualifications: Candidates must have a strong communication skills. Must be excellent recruiter and able to quickly build team. Candidates must have a commitment to progressive change, great work ethic and professionalism. Good quantitative analysis skills are key. Experience with small donor fundraising and/or field work required. 2-4+ years of experience is preferred. This position requires travel.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and execute campaigns that exceed campaign goals for Grassroots Campaigns and our clients
Recruit and hire staff to run field outreach offices
Train, manage and develop staff within offices across in many different cities
Provide professional guidance and training to junior field staff
Track and analyze performance. Adjust plans and strategies when necessary
Train Canvass Directors and Assistant Directors, both in the field and through periodic regional and national trainings
Report and discuss regional performance weekly with National Canvass Director
Meet personal fundraising requirements (1-2 days of canvassing per week)
Roll out new initiatives and national priorities to Canvass Directors in region
Location/Travel: Regional Field Directors should expect to travel often and must be willing to relocate to run campaigns in locations nationwide.
