Competitive Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate seeks
Campaign Manager
A progressive gubernatorial candidate in New England is
searching for the right person to lead a competitive and forward-thinking
campaign effort. Reporting to the candidate, the campaign manager is ultimately
responsible for every aspect of the campaign and for ensuring victory.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting
a innovative campaign strategy
- Keeping
expenditures within the set budget
- Hiring
and training staff
- Overseeing
fundraising
- Overseeing
advertising
- Maintaining
awareness of campaign finance laws and ensuring that all employees and
volunteers adhere to them
- Being
the primary point of contact with the actual candidate
- Liaising
with various team members, political consultants, and external agencies
What they need to have:
- At
least three cycles of experience working in Democratic politics and
campaigns.
- At
least one cycle of experience managing a statewide race or at least two
cycles of experience managing comparably budgeted down ticket races
- Experience
developing and managing an ongoing program that repeatedly engages with voters over a long
period of time across channels.
- Experience
hiring and working with campaign consultants and national committees.
- Exceptional
communications and political skills.
- Demonstrated
ability to work with diverse communities.
- Knowledge
of the uniqueness of the New England political culture.
- Sense
of humor, empathy, initiative, and personal accountability are absolute
musts.
Would be nice, but isn’t necessary:
- Experience
working in New England
- Campaign
polyglot with awareness of current best practices in fundraising, digital
and distributed organizing.
