SUMMARY:

Need to Impeach is seeking a Social Media Strategist to help its growing social media team in San Francisco.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develops innovative ways to tell the stories of our work; drafts compelling content for social media and other digital outlets
• Assists Social Media Director to manage the brand social calendar across all priority channels, set weekly priorities for rapid response, and ensure follow-through on high-value projects
• Maintains close fidelity to organizational branding requirements and serves as an advisor to digital leads and staff ensuring messages are on-brand and further institutional goals
• Strategic communicator – continuously crafts messages for different audiences and voices, editing for voice and tone
• Oversees the production and sourcing of campaign materials and works to ensure products support core message themes and agreed-upon strategy
• Develops strategy documents, timelines, budgets, and metrics to determine campaign effectiveness, ensure accountability, and inform future strategy
• Challenges the status quo and drives innovation, inclusive of new creative formats, technologies, tracking, and media formats

REQUIREMENTS: 

• 3+ years experience writing for a political campaign preferred; ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years social media experience
• Ability to manage and oversee digital communications projects from beginning to end
• Ability to write for different voices and audiences
• Proven record of creative content creation, and execution of successful campaigns that drove measurable results for the company or brand
• Excellent communications strategic sense and an ability to set goals and priorities and manage limited time resources for maximum impact
• Bachelor’s degree required, emphasis in journalism, political science, literature, rhetoric, communications fields preferred
