Field Director:

We are seeking an experienced Field Director for a strong candidate running for an open Congressional seat in the New York suburbs in a primary election this June. The field director will oversee all direct voter contact, organizing, and visibility operations. Their main responsibility is to implement a comprehensive plan to persuade, ID, and mobilize voters for the primary election. They will also manage our early vote and absentee ballot initiatives. We are seeking a field director that is highly organized, energetic, capable of motivating and managing staff and volunteers in multiple offices across multiple counties and be able to manage large quantities of data with attention to detail and a strong focus on data integrity.


Responsibilities:

• Executing a field plan and building a large volunteer operation to persuade and mobilize voters

• Hire, train, and manage a team of regional field organizers

• Create goals for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, local leader engagement, and maintain progress toward goals/troubleshoot when necessary

• Work with the campaign team and consultants to ensure that the field campaign messaging and strategy mirrors that in the media and press

• Create a fun and enjoyable working environment while holding staff accountable to hit their goals

• Constantly monitor what is working and what isn’t – implement best practices and be able to shift gears when things aren’t working

• Build a culture of organizing, focused on leadership development with both staff and volunteers

• Create a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and respectful work environment for your team


Required Qualifications:

• Ideally at least one cycle experience as a Field Director or minimally as an RFD

• At least one cycle of staff management experience

• A thorough understanding of and proficiency with VAN/VoteBuilder

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word and/or Google Suite

• Car and valid driver's license preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work long hours including nights and weekends

• Prior experience as a labor or community organizer a plus
