Finance Director

This is a full-time salaried position located in the Virginia Beach / Norfolk area through November 2019. The Finance Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of the campaign's fundraising program. The Finance Director is responsible for working with the Campaign Manager to create and execute a plan that will fully fund the committee’s campaign activities.

Qualifications:

• At least one cycle as finance assistant or equivalent on a Congressional or statewide campaign

• Experience with NGP, Act Blue, and other fundraising software

• Proficient with both Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs/Sheets

• Familiarity with latest fundraising best practices, including tactics for measuring and maximizing response rates

• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet goals and deadlines in both a team setting and independently

• Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the fundraising plan in consultation with the Campaign manager

• Create systems for all aspects of fundraising with a focus on candidate call time

• Track progress of program, and produce regular reports for candidate and staff

• Utilize metrics to continually improve the effectiveness of the fundraising plan

• Identify new donor prospects and cultivate current supporters with the aim of increasing the number and size of individual gifts

• Create and implement digital fundraising program through low dollar email donations

• Plan and oversee all fundraising events

• Prepare thank you letters, event invitations, and other mail solicitations
