I'm excited to share an opening for the Political team at Civis Analytics. We're hiring a DC-based Applied Data Scientist who roles will be helping Civis build products and produce guidance to help elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2020 and beyond.

 

I’ve been at Civis for nearly three years now, and it’s been a fantastic workplace and community. We’re growing our political team ahead of 2019 and 2020 elections, and all positions opportunities to build technical and managerial skills, include flexible work from home and PTO, and the ability to allocate work hours and PTO time to pro-bono or volunteer projects.

The political Applied Data Science (ADS) Team works closely with candidates, independent political organizations, and advocacy groups to provide strategic insights about elections up and down the ballot. ADS is our client-facing advisory arm. Members of the ADS team work collaboratively with social scientists and survey methodologists, software engineers, and solution delivery specialists to create and deliver scalable solutions to clients’ needs.

As an Applied Data Scientist in our DC office, you will structure hard problems, analyze large data sets, build predictive models, collaborate in cross-functional teams, create client materials, and ensure on-time progress and delivery of our projects. This role reports to an Applied Data Science Lead.

This is an entry level position, and would be a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone who has spent time on a campaign and knows some R or Python.
