Political and Nonprofit Fundraising Firm - Deputy Associate

 

Political and nonprofit fundraising firm in NYC is seeking a deputy-level position to aid in the advancement and fundraising of our political and nonprofit clients. This position will be responsible for assisting in developing and implementing comprehensive fundraising plans for several clients, managing call time, helping to plan and execute low and high dollar events, and working on donor research and prospecting. This position will also work with database management and compliance programs for many clients. This opportunity provides a hands-on experience in the field of fundraising. The level of access to the members, elected officials, candidates, Executive Directors and Boards themselves is unparalleled. Candidates should be hard working, organized, can multitask, work independently and have a sense of humor.

 

Nonprofit organizations comprise a sizable amount of our clientele in our NYC office.  Candidate must be comfortable with fundraising for and working with, non-profit organizations and leadership.  This includes event production of major galas and events as well as fundraising around these projects, in addition to overall fundraising campaigns. This position requires leadership, strategic direction, oversight, and coordination to execute the development plan and ensure fundraising goals are met or exceeded.

 

Expectations include:

  • Work with the firm’s political and nonprofit teams to implement several finance plans for many clients at one time
  • Work in conjunction with the treasurer and compliance staff of various campaigns; assist compliance staff with completion of campaign finance reports, as needed 
  • Keep accurate accounting of all incoming donations; manage deposits; follow-up with thank you, etc.
  • Work with the political team of the firm to prepared background materials for political clients
  • Staff and help organize political and nonprofit fundraising events
  • Help to execute and coordinate logistics for national trips
  • Manage and staff call time
  • Prepare briefings for political and non-profit clients. 
  • Research and build fundraising lists for both political and non-profits. 
  • Currently based in New York City

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 2 cycles of campaign finance experience previous statewide or congressional campaign finance team experience, and development experience within a nonprofit (or equivalent) preferred, but not required
  • Donor prospecting and research experience preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Excel and Google Docs a must, NGP is preferred
  • Knowledge of RevUp and/or Numero a bonus
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, highly organized, attention to details, and communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management skills are a must
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as needed
  • We institute a 3-month trial period.  Salary range is mid $40,000’s + bonus + benefits
