DIGITAL DIRECTOR: The Democratic Party of Georgia is seeking a highly motivated individual to direct digital operations for its field program “New Day GA,” and coordinated campaign efforts-- including its email list, social media account and website traffic.  The Digital Director will work with field, finance and communications staff to manage campaign communication, fundraising, organizing and engagement online.You’ll work every day to engage and inspire Democrats in Georgia and hold Republicans accountable. The Digital Director will play an important role on our team and will help elect Democratic candidates, protect our Democratic incumbents, and support our Democratic nominee for president in 2016.


  • Manage and develop an integrated digital campaign plan for the Program, including email, social media, and web properties.

  • Work with the state party Executive and Field Directors, finance and communications staff, consultants and Democratic leaders to achieve our online goals.

  • Write, edit, and manage content for the Party's email list. You’ll raise money, mobilize volunteers, and help elect candidates up and down the ticket.

  • Engage Democrats online and expand our base by writing, editing and curating content for the New Day GA Campaign’s social media accounts.

  • Manage an email and social media content calendar.

  • Identify opportunities for online engagement and track digital trends to grow our online program.

  • Track and analyze digital data.  

  • Manage website, email, social media data and segment our email list to improve our results.

  • Perform trainings for local Democratic leaders and campaign staff. You’ll develop trainings materials on key digital skills like email organizing, social media, and online fundraising.

  • Build an online campus and millennial organizing platform with events and sharable messages.

  • Run optimized digital advertising campaigns for both direct response and branding/persuasion. Come prepared with deep knowledge of specific ad verticals like search, social advertising, media planning, reporting, or ad design.

  • Write, edit and post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms in order to capture and build online enthusiasm for field program with the DPG in a meaningful and authentic way.

  • Write, edit, code, test, and send email to raise money, mobilize volunteers, get out the campaign message, and get out the vote.

  • Support the campaign’s visual language online (and off); create social graphics, email, digital product, print materials, merchandise, advertising, event collateral and more, as well as craft brand strategy and implementation

  • Write, edit, shoot, and produce videos to tell the stories, mobilize volunteers, and persuade and excite voters

  • Provide support to our digital team in the states to motivate every volunteer and voter create tools to make organizers more efficient and voters more engaged, ensure our digital program is inclusive of every Democrat, and reach out to online communities to help them participate in our work.

PREFERRED SKILLS & BACKGROUND

  • We are looking for creative problem-solvers who can roll with the punches and handle high stakes and high stress situations. We’re looking for exceptional communicators who work well with others.

  • This is not a traditional 9 to 5 job -- expect to work very long, untraditional hours.

  • Candidates with unique or non-traditional backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience with email and digital organizing, communications, and online fundraising.

  • Excellent persuasive writing skills with a strong attention to detail.

  • Experience with email platforms, such as Blue State Digital, NGP, ActBlue, Convio, GetActive).

  • Experience with content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress.

  • Understand basics of graphic design for the online consumption; experience with the Adobe systems, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign preferred.

  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects and finishing tasks on deadline.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

  • The only must-have requirement is a passion for turning the state of Georgia Blue.

  • Ability to track and understand digital data. Experience with Google Analytics is helpful.
