Field Organizers Needed in VA

Seeking entry level field organizer for a competitive State Senate race in VA. An ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, and ready to hit the ground running. Election is November 3rd 2015

Responsibilities

·  Manage volunteer teams. Plan and execute canvasses and phone banks

·  Train volunteers and Interns on voter persuasion, data integrity and other relevant skills

·  Prepare volunteer teams for GOTV activities- including volunteer expansion

·  Work with the Field Director to develop voter outreach and GOTV strategy

·  Manage a metrics driven operation and report progress to goals in a timely and accurate manner

·  Build and manage relationships with allied organizations in assigned region

Qualifications

Applicants must

·  Have a passion for organizing and voter engagement

·  Previous VAN experience/ training

·  Be able to successfully coach and manage volunteers

·  Have the ability to communicate with diverse populations and leaders

·  Be able to work in a high-pressure setting and willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends

·  Have experience meeting goals and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously

·  Be willing to travel within and work many parts of the city organizing voter contact and GOTV prep

·  Be competent with Microsoft Excel and general computers use
