Forward Majority is a national organization built to win back state legislative power for Democrats in states that have been root drivers of voter suppression and gerrymandering. We founded Forward Majority recognizing that state legislatures underpin electoral success up and down the ballot. Republicans recognized this more than a decade ago, professionalized and invested in legislative campaigns, and have leveraged legislative victories into a lock on power at every level. Forward Majority has a proven, ambitious and aggressive model to disrupt these power dynamics -- and is gearing at the frontline of the battle for 2020.

To achieve its goals, Forward Majority is seeking a Marketing & Communications Manager who can help strengthen the organization’s external communication. 

Ideally this candidate will have: 

• 3-5 years of experience in organizational communications and/or marketing
• A proven track record of success in developing and executing on branding, marketing and communications strategies
• A demonstrated ability to manage projects and processes.
• An ability to develop external-facing collateral, across a range of formats (e.g., written communication, video.)
• Experience working in cross functional teams, drawing in folks with expertise in branding, press, and campaigns
• Experience developing and executing on events 
• A reputation as a do-er and problem-solver, not just calling out problems, but finding solutions 

Responsibilities include: 

• Develop marketing and communications strategy to help drive organizational growth
• Lead process to refine and refresh our brand, storytelling and associated collateral
• Drafting donor-facing communication -- including email updates, and more long-form communication (e.g., concept notes, proposals)
• Identify platforms / forums to elevate Forward Majority’s brand (e.g., speaking opportunities, media, press)
• Develop and execute on smaller-scale events, focused on building awareness, cultivation and stewardship
