Democratic District Attorney’s race Hiring Paid Canvassers
for full or Part-Time work in Milwaukee.
Primary responsibilities include canvassing door-to-door to communicate a
reelection message for John Chisholm, a Progressive Democrat, and District
Attorney of Milwaukee County. Canvassers will be the front-line contact and
face of Citizens for Chisholm, and will maintain accurate data and records
for the campaign.
Who is John Chisholm?
John has been an innovative leader in Milwaukee County
and has set an excellent example for other District Attorneys all around
the nation. He was instrumental in
establishing the drug treatment court in Milwaukee County, a court designed
to treat the underlying issues that brings defendants into the criminal
justice system. Through his establishment of the public integrity unit in
the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office, he has also played a key
role in holding public officials accountable for their actions. He has
managed to accomplish all of these things while keeping the District
Attorney’s office under budget during every year of his tenure.
John has also been a leader in victim support and
advocacy. Due in part to his efforts, Milwaukee County was able to secure
the funds to establish the Maurice V. Pulley, Jr Witness Protection Unit in
2009, a type of program that Milwaukee County had previously lacked. This program helps victims and witnesses
get the protection they need in the wake of criminal proceedings. John was also instrumental in the
establishment of Milwaukee’s Sojourner Family Peace Center, which serves to
educate and protect families who are victims of domestic violence.
John has based his career on the principle that the
success of a prosecutor is not defined by just the people the he locks up,
but also by addressing the larger societal issues that relate to criminal
justice.
