The Sierra Club, based in San Francisco, CA but moving to Oakland, CA in 2016, is currently seeking an HR Director to oversee all Human Resources and Talent Management programs. The Sierra Club is a non-profit grassroots environmental organization operating in the United States. Our mission is to enlist humanity to explore, enjoy and protect the natural and human environment and to do so in a way that promotes environmental justice. The Director of Human Resources will report to the Chief Operating Officer and oversee all essential Human Resource responsibilities including recruitment, talent development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, change management, hiring, legal compliance & risk management and all the other functions of a cutting-edge HR Department. We are looking for proven HR leader with a passion for our mission and significant hands-on experience managing a Human Resources department in a large, unionized and complex organization.
