A New York City elected official is looking for a full time Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant will oversee all aspects of the schedule, including but not limited to: preparing talking points and background information, coordinating with various elected officials and community groups, drafting of proclamations, citations, and correspondence.

This position is entry to mid-level. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should possess some knowledge of New York City and State politics, and should be available to start within a few weeks. The ideal candidate works well in a fast paced environment, can multi-task under tight deadlines and is a team player. VERY strong attention to detail is required. The position reports to the Chief of Staff and the elected official, so creativity and an ability to self-start are crucial.

The job requires occasional work on nights and weekends. Applicants who own a car are preferred. Proficiency in a language other than English is also preferred but not required, and should be noted in cover letter. Salary is commensurate with experience. A full benefits package is included.

Please send a cover letter noting professional background, linguistic skills, vehicle ownership, salary requirements, and resume to nygov...@gmail.com
