Tier Incumbent Democrat in Northern Virginia is seeking to hire a
Full-Time Indian/ South Asian Community Organizer for a highly
competitive race. The district has a need to organize and conduct
out-reach to these specific communities. Applications will start being
taken now and go through July.
Responsibilities:
· Identify, recruit, and train groups of volunteers to build a volunteer base to strengthen the campaign’s organization throughout the district and meet the goals outlined by the Field Director.
· Ensure the successful training and inclusion of all volunteers.
· Provide volunteers with the positive leadership, culture, resources, and guidance required to succeed during each phase of the campaign.
· Ensure the accurate and reliable entry of data throughout the campaign.
· Provide the Field Director with quantitative and qualitative reports as part of an ongoing evaluation of the program’s success. Qualitative goals will be based on political out-reach to certain communities.
· Perform certain political out-reach to specified communities as directed by the Field Director and Campaign Manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Demonstrated interest and commitment to progressive candidates and causes within the Indian/South Asian community, with one cycle of previous field experience strongly preferred but not mandatory.
· Knowledge of Google Docs, basic computer literacy, and access to a reliable laptop. Votebuilder/VAN proficiency is also preferred.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to work long, irregular hours in a fast-paced, metrics-driven work environment and weekends.
· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and an ability to relocate as needed
· Winning mentality and a driven personality.
