At ActBlue, we build and power the premier online fundraising platform for Democratic campaigns, progressive organizations, and charities working to create a better future. We put power in the hands of small-dollar donors and make giving online as easy as possible. And we work with thousands of groups -- from presidential candidates to environmental organizations to local school board members.

The most rewarding part? Our work has led to a transformation of the power structures in this country. It takes all types to make ActBlue go, from political junkies to number whizzes to designers and writers. We pride ourselves on working hard as a small team to create big change. And we’re looking for more great people to join us.

This job is guaranteed through the end of 2016, with the potential to extend.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Write and edit fundraising emails with the help of other team members in order to support ActBlue’s own fundraising program.

  • Set up emails using a mass mailing client (such as MailChimp or Blue State Digital).

  • Write and edit copy for marketing communication to the thousands of organizations and campaigns using our platform, as well as for product launches and organizational milestones.

  • Participate in team strategy discussions and decisions.

  • Attend professional development classes or conferences (covered by ActBlue), and dedicate time to growing your skillset.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent writer and editor. Experience writing emails, blog posts, news releases, or other content for an organization is a plus, but not required.

  • Attention to detail when editing and loading emails/blog posts.

  • Excellent computer and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn. Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and statistics is helpful, but we are willing to train you.

  • Ability to multitask and keep projects organized and on time.

  • Dedication to, and excitement about, our mission of empowering grassroots donors and increasing participation in our democracy and society. We love what we do, and you should too!
