Field Organizer - Brooklyn, NY City Council Race

Brooklyn-based City Council campaign seeks energetic and dedicated Field Organizers to play an invaluable role in an exciting race for a frontrunner candidate.

 

Position Overview

 

Organizers will be responsible for executing an on-the-ground effort by owning the day-to-day field work in their turf, volunteer recruitment and volunteer management. Organizers will report directly to the Field Director and may also have to manage a group of field interns.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Gathering petition signatures

• Going door-to-door talking with voters about the campaign and candidate’s message

• Making phone calls to voters

• Recruiting and managing volunteers

• Staffing field events

• Building community relationships

 

Ideal Candidate

 

The ideal candidate will be a highly-motivated individual, with a passion for community activism. They will be friendly, energetic and comfortable talking to voters.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

 

• Hard working

• Excellent communication skills

• Quick to learn new skills

• Ability to work independently

• Previous campaign experience is a plus, but not required
