High-profile, competitive democratic campaign in upstate New York seeking experienced and professional Communications Director to help flip a Red-to-Blue congressional district. Individual will serve as key spokesperson when communicating with the media, assist in crafting and executing the campaign message, build relationships with local, state and national press contacts, set up interviews and media opportunities, manage social media, write press releases and assist with candidate speeches. Eligible applicants must have at least 3 years of political campaign experience and at least one election cycle working in communications. Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, organized, proficient in various social media platforms, understand media markets and buying strategies, and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines. Highly competitive salary DOE. Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the district for duration of campaign. Sense of humor required. Position starts January 1.
