Beto for America is seeking an IT Manager to build then manage our IT Team. The IT team will provide desktop support, manage routine processes such as backup, antivirus, and system logging, make purchase recommendations for hardware and software, and support all aspects of a mixed Mac/Windows environment.  We use GSuite, Office 365, Slack, Zoom, and more, and need assistance buying, administering, and supporting these and other tools.

This role will be based at our El Paso Headquarters but will coordinate with state leadership for our remote locations to ensure systems and networks are running smoothly at all our offices, and to ensure that the teams are adequately staffed.  This role will help set up connectivity for state offices in conjunction with state staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing, hiring, and firing for IT department positions and managing the team both locally and remotely.
  • Coordinating the IT team around providing technical support for all products, departments, and locations.
  • Evaluating and respond to IT and data security needs and challenges
  • Propose and managing IT department budget

Required Skills:

  • Must be comfortable providing technical support for both Mac and PC based systems
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Communicates with and maintains buy in from stakeholders across multiple locations
  • Demonstrates strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills to allow efficient and effective problem identification and apply appropriate solution
  • Illustrates high attention to problem description, detail, and impact
  • Ability to understand and work in compliance with security processes and regulatory requirements
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented, capable of working in a fast paced and changing environment
  • Ability to deal with multiple concurrent support issues and projects.
  • Researches, tests, and implements technical solutions that are effective and limited in risk exposure
  • Identifies and prioritizes system issues to minimize customer and operational impact

Technical Skills:

  • Demonstrates in-depth technical knowledge of Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Maintains accurate documentation of hardware inventory and software licensing
  • Tests and Installs vendor supplied patches and updates
  • Manages integrations, deployments, and upgrades of hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Installs, configures, manages, and troubleshoots
    • Laptop computing
    • Network printers
    • MS Office and other standard business applications
    • Network Performance and Connectivity
    • Backup and Antivirus Applications
    • Email filtering and risk management

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Five or more years experience supporting a similar environment
  • Based in El Paso or willing to relocate
