The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is conducting a targeted campaign to elevate the civil liberties issues at stake during the 2018 electoral cycle. In Florida and Michigan, this role will involve organizing support for a ballot measure and recruiting volunteers. This role will require a lot of large canvass management. This is a typical campaign position - through November, 7 days a week, 12 hours a day.

Training, recruiting, and managing volunteers, and recruiting and identifying volunteer leaders
Building and tracking relationships with volunteers
Working directly with the field director to ensure goals are met
Conducting regular evening call time
Maintaining the highest regard for data integrity
Working collaboratively with ACLU in-state staff
Previous campaign experience
Highly organized and work at a fast pace
Excellent communication skills
Experience managing staff or volunteers and strong interpersonal skills
Experience with electoral work
Interest in civil liberties issues
Will be responsible for safely and quickly getting to and from the office, meetings, events, and other area organizing activities
Need to have personal laptop and cell phone
Personal experience with civil liberties issues, including the immigration and criminal justice systems, is preferred
Salary is $4,200 a month + health care stipend (non-negotiable). Travel to and from the state, as well as housing in an extended stay hotel are also offered.
