JOB: Field Organizer, NextGen Climate, New Hampshire (Concord, Manchester, Keene, Hanover)

SUMMARY:

NextGen Climate - New Hampshire is seeking highly motivated candidates to serve as Field Organizers to assist in running a comprehensive statewide campaign leading up to February’s First-in-the-Nation Primary and November’s General election. The Field Organizer will recruit and train grassroots volunteers; develop Regional Climate Leaders and help those leaders organize and maintain volunteer teams; and work with their Regional Field Director to plan and execute events across their region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and grassroots activists;
• Build and maintain relationships with Regional Climate Leaders;
• Help organize community events to recruit volunteers and advance our organizing program;
• Other duties as assigned;

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Strong communication and motivational skills;
• Proven ability to manage and maintain volunteer groups;
• Strong planning skills;
• Works well in an ever-changing environment where creativity and spontaneity are encouraged and sometimes required;
• Previous organizing experience or particular passion for climate change solutions, energy policy, or the environment a plus;

TRAINING:

Field Organizers will receive extensive training and support from the Organizing Director and their Regional Field Director.

EXPECTATION:

Potential campaign staff should expect to work some evenings and weekends during the Primary and General Elections.
