The Iowa Democratic Party seeks a high-achieving individual to serve as a Constituency Engagement Director to lead our community outreach efforts among key constituencies across the state, with a primary focus on Latinx outreach.
The ideal candidate will have experience in grassroots organizing, voter engagement and outreach, coalition building, and communications with specific experience working in minority or underrepresented communities.
The new position will report to the Party Affairs Director and will work with a wide variety of stakeholders including other IDP departments, our Constituency Caucus Chairs, and partner organization leaders.
Duties Include:
Create and implement a comprehensive constituency outreach and engagement plan that includes coordinating with partner groups prioritizing voter registration.
Build coalitions and strategic partnerships with allied organizations to strengthen relationships with the IDP and to collaborate on community organizing opportunities.
Work with IDP staff and Constituency Caucus Chairs to strengthen party relationships and outreach and to provide Party resources to constituencies.
Plan and participate in voter contact activities, trainings, local meetings, and other activities that build presence in constituencies across the state and increase engagement with the Party.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least two cycles or two years of experience in grassroots community organizing or field organizing,
Fluent in Spanish preferred,
Excellent writing, analytical, and public speaking skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment,
Comfortable working in a team environment while also self-motivated and able to meet goals,
Computer proficiency and knowledge of Votebuilder preferred
Statewide travel is required
