Townsend For Congress Hiring Field Organizers

Democrat Bryan Townsend’s Campaign for Congress is hiring Field Organizers to build a grassroots, volunteer-focused field operation in Delaware. Field Organizers will be assigned to specific geographical areas where they will manage volunteer recruitment, volunteer training, and voter contact programs such as door-to-door canvasses and phone banks. Field organizers will bear primary responsibility for execution of the field plan in their assigned region. In addition, they will manage data collection and entry into the Voter Activation Network database.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Implement the campaign field plan;

· Develop relationships with key political players and opinion leaders, and allied organizations and coalitions to build our base of support in Delaware;

· Coordinate with supporters and other field staff;

· Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for voter contact activities including door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and Get Out The Vote efforts.

 

· Work long hours including evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.

 

· Ability to work independently and in team settings.

 

· Commitment to working long and irregular hours as needed.

 

· Being goal-oriented and able to follow directions under pressure.

 

· Basic computer literacy and database skills, especially ensuring data integrity.

 

· Campaign or community organizing experience is preferred, but not necessary.

 

· A strong dedication to Democratic values.

 

· Organizers must have a car and driver's license.
