Queens, NYC: Field Organizers for Progressive District Attorney Candidate

The Rory Lancman Campaign is seeking full-time field organizers for a data driven volunteer field operation. Field organizers are responsible for building a grassroots network of volunteers capable of turning out enough voters to deliver a margin of victory within their assigned turf.
Rory Lancman is a progressive candidate for Queens District Attorney. As DA he will fix a broken justice system by ending cash bail, protecting immigrants from Trump’s deportation machine, not prosecute low level offenses, and work to end mass incarceration and over-policing in communities of color. The county of Queens is the most diverse area in the country and has a population of over 2 million people.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruiting, managing and training volunteers to participate in direct voter contact activities including canvassing, phone banking, and voter registration.
- Meeting and exceeding strict daily, weekly, and monthly goals including volunteer recruitment dials, volunteer shift recruitment, volunteer shift completion, and volunteer productivity.
- Preparing canvass and call materials for volunteer activities.
Qualifications:
- Passionate about criminal justice reform
- Outgoing and willing to engage diverse communities. Must have the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Able to work independently and in team settings.
- Able to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment.
- Basic computer literacy and database skills.
- Energetic and with a “get it done” mentality
- Can find humor in anything
- Preferred but not necessary:
- One year of campaign experience or community organizing experience
- Knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN preferred
- Lives or has worked in Queens
- Multiple language skills
