Position Details: Full-Time, Temporary Position (Ends November 30, 2018)
Location: Based
in St. Louis, MO. Requires travel throughout St. Louis County and St. Charles County
Function - Scope Statement:
This position entails carrying out a campaign plan for two smoke-free workplace ballot measure efforts in St. Louis County and St. Charles County. The ideal candidate will have a knack for grassroots organizing. Knowledge of the area is preferred. This is a full-time, limited term position. The campaign organizer reports directly to a supervising coalition partner (with additional support from full coalition and consultants).
Major Responsibilities:
7. Coordinates communication efforts for both campaigns, providing regular updates on Facebook and Twitter, among other appropriate mediums.
8. Responsible for tracking and meeting benchmarks for success laid out in the campaign plan (in areas including but not limited to signature gathering, social media engagement, and recruitment of storytellers).
9. Manages day to day operations of the campaign, including accounts receivable/payable, budget, event planning, and database upkeep, among other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Environmental and Working Conditions:
For organizing purpose, this position requires flexibility in daily schedule and structure to have a presence in St. Louis and St. Charles counties. Office space may be provided upon request. Regular communication with coalition leadership and consultants will be required.
Additional Requirements:
Ability
to be on one’s feet most of the day; successfully communicate over the phone,
in person, and in writing; effectively plan and manage workflow; work on
multiple projects simultaneously; and execute project details with limited
supervision.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
