The system properties for the slave node is showing user.home as /home/jenkins

Where is this defined and how do I force/change it to /var/lib/jenkins?

I already set the $HOME on the slave node to /var/lib/jenkins but the system properties file is not being updated to reflect that.

The java system property user.home is determine to be the home folder as configured in the operating system for the 'current' user. In the case of a slave node your configuration of the slave user on the slave operating system will determine user.home.

I am interested to know why you would want the user home to be /var/lib/jenkins
