Ways to automate using Jenkins REST API

What are the different automation tasks performed by Jenkins administrator using REST API? What all tasks can we automate? Could you please suggest a list of them?

If you open http://your-jenkins.example.com/api/ it will display several examples of REST API calls available.  For example, it lists 

• Create job
• Copy job
• Restart Jenkins

If you open the documentation at https://www.jenkins.io/doc/book/using/remote-access-api/ you'll see pointers to the general concepts and to Python, Ruby, and Java API wrappers.
