Thread dump shows what your Jenkins server is actually doing at the moment you're generating it.
So it should be helpful to know what the server is doing during your unresponsive period. It's generally advisable to generate and save many thread dumps during the issue.
Also possibly install and generate a support bundle using the support-core plugin.
