POLL parametrized branch name

Hi all,

I have the following issue:

I have a job that only handles the release branches, so every time a release branch is created this job gets trigger to start building it, the problem is that the POLL from the gitlab repository is not working in this scenario, does anyone know how to make it work with out adding a hook to gitlab? does the POLL takes any global variable that I can set up?
