CSS changes and the side panel

We're currently using Jenkins 1.575, and planning to update to the latest LTS (1.609.2). The CSS seems to have changed, causing the side panel to be displayed wrong.
With some views like Build Pipeline, I get a large empty block on the left (where the side panel normally appears), and with some pages like Role Strategy's config, the side panel occupies 100% of the page width and is shown on top of the page's contents instead of to the left.
Is this a know bug?
