what is the significance of selecting 'Permanent Agent' option as we create a node for a jenkins master ? why does it make us select that option?

I am no getting about why we are selecting a Permanent Agent ? any reason? and  Description about 'Permanent Agent' in jenkins , I am not getting it. Please help on this?
