I spent a while doing some cool execution scripts in groovy to change the display name for a job concurrently whilst executing a windows batch file.
Unfortunately I was bit by the system groovy script only executing on the server. As I only want to change the display name for a job, so the build monitor can display what things are up to, is it reasonable to use the remote API and change the full display name using .../job/jobname/api/json REST ? The only concern I have is that I see a build number appended to this property so wondering if was in fact just a read only remote API value as I don't see the number displayed anywhere friendly names are displayed.
