using jenkins, am trying to do some operations using the vmware vSphere plugin(https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/vSphere+Cloud+Plugin) on a esxi5.0 server.

am getting the below error, does it mean that the vsphere plugin does not work on esxi5.0?

13:55:26 org.jenkinsci.plugins.vsphere.tools.VSphereException: com.vmware.vim25.RestrictedVersion

It most likely means that you are using a version of esxi that doesn't have all the feature enabled, such as the free version of the esxi or possibly a time limited or trial version.

The plugin is designed to work with vSphere - talking to a vCenter.  ESXi standalone exposes the same API, but it may be more limited under certain conditions.
