The remote view plugin shows the last reported job status when a server is unreachable.

The remote view plugin should instead show that the remote server is unreachable.

This causes reporting confusion. We have a scenario where the last cached result was pass, then the server went offline. It was several days before the administrator learned that the Jenkins instance on the remote server stopped because the remote view was showing the cached pass results instead of unreachable.
