Re: EC2 Plugin does not support us-gov-west-1 region

I'd like to add my name to the list as really needing this.

I have worked around this by manually setting the region to us-gov-west-1 in the EC2Cloud config in config.xml.

This would be a really really nice feature to have.

Currently, we use this plugin to create EC2 slaves on demand on AWS.

We would love to be able to do the same for our GovCloud account.

Michal Jeco in the newer versions of the plugin you can change the endpoint does that work for you?

I just upgraded the plugin to the latest version (1.44.1) and I can confirm that by changing the EC2 endpoint to "ec2.us-gov-west-1.amazonaws.com" I am able to connect to my GovCloud account.

However, the "Alternate EC2 Endpoint" setting field does not persist. When I save the configuration and then go back, the endpoint field is now empty and the plugin cannot connect.

The alternate endpoint setting is not saved but your region config should persist which should still allow you to connect to your govcloud i think

Ok, I managed to get it to work and successfully create EC2 instances in GovCloud.

The fact that the endpoint does not save means that sometimes when I open "Manage Jenkins > Configure System" the region is blank and just shows a spinning icon.

When this happens, I have to enter the GovCloud endpoint again, select the region and save.

It would be great if the Alternate Endpoint value was persisted in config.xml

Raihaan Shouhell resolved as Fixed

The functionality is available, minor QoL improvement possible by saving the alternate endpoint
