Thanks for starting your use of Jenkins. That's great. The bug tracker is best suited to track bugs and enhancement requests. Far fewer people read a bug report to the git plugin than read a posting to the Jenkins users mailing lists. Please use the jenkins...@googlegroups.com list for these types of questions. I suspect you may have a proxy between you and the public internet and you need to configure Jenkins with your proxy information. However, that is best diagnosed from the users mailing list rather than through a bug report.
