There is not enough information in this report to decide if there is a problem with the plugin. I've used the plugin with git protocol, ssh protocol, and https protocol to clone large repositories at good speed.

There was a speed limiter on the ssh protocol on windows with older versions of msysgit. That speed limiter (approximately 1 MB per second) was resolved in msysgit 1.9.5 when the version of OpenSSH was upgraded to a more recent version
