Hi!
I am a student at the RWTH Aachen University in Germany currently pursuing a Master's degree in Software Systems Engineering. During my Master's studies I have developed a special interest for software construction best practices, design patterns, and modern trends such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. In fact, I am working on my thesis in the context of CI. Because of this, I am aware of the relevance of Jenkins in this field and its wide adoption as an open-source tool. Even though I have very limited experience working with Jenkins, I am familiar with its capabilities and, also, I have worked extensibly with Java.
Although I knew about GSoC before, I was not able to join the past years, as our calendar overlaps specifically with the exam period. However, I will no longer concern about exams this coming summer. Therefore, and due to the lack of previous experience contributing to open-source projects, I think it is a great opportunity to ramp up and engage with the community.
I have gone through the current project ideas (also joined the discussion during the last office hours) and found the project in the subject particularly interesting. Additionally, after reading the relevant links posted in the past entries, I have drafted my proposal for this project which can be accessed and reviewed
here.
I am looking forward to reading your comments and participating in the project.
Best Regards,
Ricardo Hernández-Montoya
