Budget request: Jenkins swag for outreach programs

Hi all,

As an acting Events Officer, I would like to request a small budget so that we can produce and distribute swag for Jenkins outreach programs like SheCodeAfrica contributhon or GSoC/GSoD. The Continuous Delivery Foundation is willing to donate some swag from their stock (stickers, T-shirts and socks), but they have a very limited budget for delivery and the sticker production costs.

I would like to request 1000 USD for now, it should be enough for a while. Not sure whether it will be enough until the end of the year though. If everyone agrees, I would also like to move approval of the swag within this budget to the Advocacy&Outreach SIG so that I do not disturb the main developer/governance channel by minor requests.

At the today's governance meeting we agreed with the budget request. Since the request has not been submitted timely to have a public discussion before the governance meeting, it would be great to get feedback from others in the thread.

I might miss the documentation about the funds of Jenkins community. Do we have a funds? Or we just receive the donates from some companies or other sources?

Hi Rick,

All our funds come from donations and from organization stipends like GSoC/GSoD. We do not receive money as sponsorships, all sponsorships happen in a way of contributions or infrastructure donations/credits. Thanks a lot to all sponsor companies and individual/company donors by the way. It helps a lot.

Until 2016 there was a Jenkins patron program which allowed big money contributions from companies in exchange for community-approved patron messages being posted on Jenkins Wiki. We could probably recover this program if there is a need to receive more money in the Jenkins project, but right now there is no much demand from the community.

Gentle reminder that we can run our own mentorship programs and pay stipends via LXF Mentorship (our account). We have some money in our coffers. To appreciate donations, the best thing we could is to spend them and to facilitate the project evolutions.
