I am taking over responsibility for Tom Milligan at Skytap for the Jenkins plugin: Skytap-cloud-plugin.

please add me as a contributor to the repository.

My GitHub username is jchenry.

This is time sensitive as a customer is waiting for a bug fix.

Thanks,

Probably best to file a PR to https://github.com/jenkins-infra/repository-permissions-updater/ after reading the entire repo readme, following its instructions, and processing the PR checklist (you'll need to be able to release this, after all).

Add a note that you need commit access too, and we'll do that as well.

Hello please follow the process for taking over maintenance of a plugin (Google for 'Jenkins adopt a plugin' being on the phone doesn't make this easy for me right now).

The only way to get an expedite handover is to get an explicit approval from the current maintainer(s).

Can you maybe get in touch with the previous one publicly in some GitHub conversation, or have him confirm here he's ok with this?

Failing this, we usually wait for at least two weeks without any answer before proceeding.

Thanks

Baptiste,

I have made a public PR on GitHub, I will attempt to get him to acknowledge it on the mailing list.  The "Jenkins adopt a plugin" is difficult to read and basically, takes you in circles.

Thanks,

Nice intro, thanks.

Can you please be more specific about the area that are especially hard to read. This doc definitely needs some love and has grown over the years and I've planned to rewrite it from scratch for long but didn't find the time yet.

Thanks,

@Colin I just made you committer and the JIRA lead of this plugin. You'll still need to proceed with Daniel's comment to be able to release.

Welcome aboard!

Is it possible to use lambdas in a Jenkinsfile? I’m writing a new Step for the warnings plugin and I want to add filtering of the warnings.

What I have in Java 8 is a method:

/**
 * Returns a filtered parser result that contains only issues that match the specified criterion.
 *
 * @param criterion the filter criterion
 * @return the found issues
 */
public ParserResult filter(final Predicate<? super FileAnnotation> criterion) {
}

In Java I can call this method in a test like:

result.filter(warnings -> warnings.getPackageName().startsWith("io.jenkins"));

If I try to do the same in a Jenkinsfile I get an exception:

def filtered = result.filter{issue -> issue.getPackageName().startsWith('io.jenkins')}

hudson.remoting.ProxyException: groovy.lang.MissingMethodException: No signature of method: hudson.plugins.analysis.core.ParserResult.filter() is applicable for argument types: (org.jenkinsci.plugins.workflow.cps.CpsClosure2) values: [org.jenkinsci.plugins.workflow.cps.CpsClosure2@5e62aaf2]
Possible solutions: filter(java.util.function.Predicate), find(), sleep(long), with(groovy.lang.Closure), find(groovy.lang.Closure)

Is my syntax in the Jenkinsfile wrong? Or do I need another method signature in my Java plug-in code?

As you can see in the issue, no. Tyler's home town being literally on fire takes precedence, and not many people have access to the various infra keys and secrets that are needed to resolve this.

> would comment

As general advice, if you would comment asking for it to be fixed (or, worse, "+1"), please don't. Watch and/or vote (once you're able to, again), everything else just takes up core contributors' time unnecessarily (in aggregate). This issue already is the highest priority.

If you'd like to add some relevant information, you can do so here and I'll update the issue accordingly.

Daniel,

I am really sorry to hear about Tyler. If he at some point sees this thread I hope he, his family, and his home are all safe. I am new to this community and was unaware that Tyler's home was under threat.

Relevant information: my issue is I am unable to sign up for an account in the first place, I don't have an existing account. I am trying to cut a new build of the Skytap plugin after fixing a few bugs(now merged) that a Skytap customer asked to have fixed. As I said, I am new to this community and only trying to get these bug fixes to users of Jenkins that also use Skytap. I don't want to waste core contributors time, or yours, and in general, I am low/no maintenance contributor.

If you could suggest an alternate strategy for me to get a new version of the plugin built that would release artifacts in the official artifact repo, I am happy to follow it.

Thanks,

Colin
