Hi all,

the Jenkins table cells class  jenkins-table__cell--tight  is used in a large amount of tables.

it works great when you have a small icon (the CSS hard codes a width to 60px)  (i though we should use rem not px these days but I digress)

The issue with the hard coding is most of these table columns contain icons (svgs/png whatever)  which works great,

until you do not want to load images but instead fall back to ALT text (yup we provide it!)

When we do that we end up with utter ugglyness - see below screenshot for jenkins.io

I'm not sure what the best approach here should be.  Could someone help make this not suck or provide some pointers please?

(and yes I know that other areas of Jenkins are also affected - but not in such a drastically non useable way)

Thanks

/James

James,

Can you file a Jira ticket with component set to "core" and labels set
to "regression" and "ux", along with steps to reproduce the problem
from scratch, expected results, and actual results. If possible,
identifying the first core/plugin release where this regression
occurred would be helpful. The list of regressions is quite long and
needs to be processed prior to the release of the next LTS.

Thank you,
Basil
