Jenkins Ambassador Program

Hello,

In the last governance meeting, I proposed Jenkins Ambassador program. There were some questions that came out of that meeting which I hope I've clarified them via the updated wiki page. I wanted to open it up for discussions here and see if there's any feedback/suggestions for this program.

This looks good to me! What would the nomination process look like? Would that
be sending an email somewhere, or what?

Great question. Submissions can be made via a simple google form. I will create this form and include link on the wiki page.

Sorry for being a slowpoke. I have made a couple of suggestions during the governance meeting, and I feel they were reflected well by adding the conditions.

However, one big thing is unclear to we: Election process.

• Do we automatically make Jenkins Ambassodors all people who comply with the criteria? I doubt
• In Jenkins "contributor" is a wide term. "3 contributors co-sign..." mean that 3 people who have ever submitted a JIRA ticket may make another person a JAM Ambassador.
• If no, how do we make decisions? Voting at the governance meeting? If no, who does make the decision?
  

Other major feedback:

• From which budget do you plan to sponsor Jenkins Ambassadors (gifts, swags, etc.)? From the Jenkins project, right?
• Benefits come without responsibilities
  
• IMHO, some explicit responsibilities would be useful
  
• E.g. "At least one Jenkins-related blog post every quarter", "Organizing a local JAM in the city if it does not exist, at least one meeting anually", etc.
  

Minor feedback regarding the form:

• Form should also require Jenkins account ID and (verified?) IRC username. I feel both are mandatory for Jenkins ambassadors since they are expected to participate in the community
• No "Extra" field, which would allow detalizing contributions
• No field allowing to provide links to info sources (e.g. personal blog). GitHub ID is cool, but it is hard to extract information from it
