Hi Guys,

We are working to add BlueOcean support for Perforce and have added the Perforce SCM under the 'blueocean-plugin' and following the pattern of the other SCM providers.

We had hoped to release the work in stages (Create first then Edit and other improvements later) however unlike other plugins we don't have control over the release process.

Presumably we will raise a GitHub PR, wait for you to Merge the change, then wait until you release a new version of the BlueOcean plugin?  How long (assuming that there are no code issues) would the typical turnaround be from submitting a PR until a customer can use a released version with the changes?  Is there a way we can split some of the SCM implementation out into a seperate plugin to help decouple the release process?

Kind regards,
Paul

oh shoot, I probably should reply to this.

Short version, until someone takes over from me, its when I have time to do it, and when I think a release is needed.

Right now I'm trying to get the ATH a little more stable so we can merge a little easier.

Hi Gavin,

Thanks for getting back to me; we will push our changes over in a PR next week and leave it with you.  There will be some additional changes in a couple of months, but if you are able release in between that would be awesome.

By ATH I presume you are referring to a Automated Test Harness?  Is that part of the test in the project repo or something external?

Its part of the project

its essentially the e2e stuff for blueocean. I would avoid touching it if you can.
