Hello,

We are still actively looking for Google Summer of Code projects, project reviews, and mentors.

We start to have a handful of projects ideas. They can bee seen on https://www.jenkins.io/projects/gsoc/2022/project-ideas/. They are at various description maturity level. Some are even still been discussed on https://community.jenkins.io. (see the "ongoing discussion" section of the project list).

These proposals are important. They serve as a seed for the GSoC Contributor application. In it, he/she will explain, in their own words, what the project is, the value it adds to the Jenkins project, and how they will execute (planning, deliverables, etc). The application is their key for being selected for the program by Google.

We are also looking for additional mentors (ideally three per project) to cover timezones and temporary unavailabilities.

Mentoring is an interesting and rewarding adventure. It is also a responsibility (or even a duty) for us, seasoned OSS and/or Jenkins contributors. Just remember how you felt when you started your career as a tenderfoot OSS contributor. Mentorship is stretching a helping hand to future fellow contributors.

Don't hesitate to reach out to Alyssa and myself for details or further guidance.

While we are progressing on the preparation of Google Summer of Code 2022, we still need more project ideas and mentors

If have doubts whether your project idea is good enough or your help is useful, don't hesitate to reach out to Alyssa or myself so that we can discuss it.
