What is a reasonable time between when a new plugin appears in https://updates.jenkins-ci.org/current/update-center.json  and when you can see it in Jenkins available plugin list?

I am now after a couple of hours and I have no idea if it is normal that it is still not in the list, or if there is an issue to investigate.

BTW, https://ci.jenkins-ci.org/job/Update%20Center/job/infra_update_center_v3/lastSuccessfulBuild/consoleText  , where the docs direct you to check returns a 404.

TIA

Did you create a wiki page, under "Plugins", and referenced from <url> in your pom.xml?

Cannot check due to recent infra refactorings. Will file an INFRA issue later at least to see how we could make the UC build logs accessible to help people self debug/be autonomous that kind of issue.

Yes, I have.

From my pom.xml:

  <name>Aqua Security Scanner</name>
  <description>Scans Docker images for vulnerabilities</description>
  <url>https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Aqua+Security+Scanner+Plugin</url>

Nope, but in the FAQ https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Hosting+Plugins#HostingPlugins-Frequentlyaskedquestions we explained that it takes roughly at least 4 hours to get published. And in general, we say that one shouldn't worry under 8 hours.

Oh,  I read that but it is written as if it refers to ://updates.jenkins-ci.org/current/update-center.json and that was updated relatively quickly.

Sure, the thing is that indeed, depending on many factors, the update can come very quickly (say you are lucky for example to run a release a few minutes or seconds before the next Update Center update build, or a few seconds after it finished, it can make all vary of a few hours :-).
Also, there are mirrors to be updated, so yeah, hence why 8 hours to not worry in front of your computer while many things are propagating and there's nothing you can do about it :).
